Your personalized report presents your HbA1c result together with the outcome of your lifestyle assessment, helping you better understand how your diet and everyday habits may be reflected in your test results. Based on your results and questionnaire responses, you receive result-based guidance on diet, physical activity and other lifestyle choices to support informed decisions about your daily routine. The Zinzino HBA1C Test
The test is divided into two main parts. First, the actual measurement is performed using an easy at-home, laboratory-analyzed self-test for analyzing the long-term blood sugar level (HbA1c) found in capillary blood, obtained from a fingertip using the Dried Blood Spot (DBS) technique. This technique has been shown to correlate with venous blood sampling when validated for HbA1c analysis. All it requires is a few drops of blood on a filter paper and it takes less than a minute to complete. The blood will then be analyzed by VITAS Analytical Services in Norway,  an independent laboratory with extensive experience in chromatographic analysis. The result will be displayed, after about 10–20 days, on the zinzinotest.com website using your anonymous test ID.
This measurement provides, information about your long-term blood sugar level and how it relates to blood sugar control, because knowing your current levels can help you make informed choices and take positive steps in your daily routine. To know which lifestyle areas to consider, the second part of the test is a lifestyle assessment. When logging in with the test ID, you will be asked to fill out a detailed questionnaire to perform the lifestyle assessment. This will provide the context, because information without context is often harder to interpret. The Zinzino lifestyle assessment will enhance your understanding of yourself, your results, how your current lifestyle relates to your wellness routine, and most importantly guide you towards informed lifestyle choices over time. To do this we combine your test result with your lifestyle assessment and provide lifestyle-based scores related to the following areas, based on your questionnaire responses, for you to track over time:
– Overall lifestyle and well-being status

What we measure
The Hemoglobin A1c test that we use to measure the long-term blood sugar level analyzes the amount of A1c, a form of hemoglobin with glucose attached. The higher the amount of blood glucose (blood sugar) on average, the more glucose attaches to hemoglobin. It is represented as a unit of measurement in mmol/mol (millimoles per mole) which has been the standard measurement for HbA1c since 2009. The result is then categorized in one of 4 different reporting ranges used in the report:
Normal range < 34 mmol/mol
Monitor closely range 34 – < 38 mmol/mol
Elevated range 38 – < 47 mmol/mol
High range > 47 mmol/mol
The result is not intended to diagnose diabetes or any other medical condition.
Note!
When the HbA1c result is in the normal or monitor closely range, lifestyle is presented. If the result is in the elevated range or high range, this information is not presented since as the report instead provides guidance to seek professional advice or follow-up.
Certified test kit
